• Mass backing is also available as an upgrade for your Pontiac Catalina molded carpet, it is used for additional sound deadening and heat shielding.  Mass backing is ethylene vinyl acetate 40 ml thick that is molded onto the back of the carpet when it is manufactured.  It adds sound deadening and insulation qualities to the carpet and is available at an additional cost, but does not take any longer to ship than our standard carpet. We highly recommend the mass backing option for additional sound deadening and heat shield.
