• Mass backing is also available as an upgrade for your 1960 Chevy Belair molded carpet, it is used for additional sound deadening and heat shielding.  Mass backing is ethylene vinyl acetate 40 ml thick that is molded onto the back of the carpet when it is manufactured.  It adds sound deadening and insulation qualities to the carpet and is available at an additional cost, but does not take any longer to ship than our standard backing.  **Please Note:  Mass backing can only be applied to carpets that are molded, any of the older model year carpets that are the original cut and sewn style, mass backing cannot be applied since it is applied during the molding process. Mass backing can only be applied to molded carpets. We highly recommend the mass backing option for additional sound deadening and heat shield.
