• Mass backing is also available as a special order option used for sound deadening.  Mass backing is ethylene vinyl acetate 40 ml thick that is molded onto the back of the carpet when it is manufactured.  It adds sound deadening and insulation qualities to the carpet and is available at an additional cost on most carpets.  Remember, special orders do not take any longer to ship out.  It is always suggested you get samples prior to your sale.
  Mass backing can only be applied to products that are actually molded.  If your vehicle has a die cut cargo/hatch area, mass backing will not be applied to that particular part since it is bonded to the back of the carpet with heat during the molding process, however, it would be applied to the back of the molded passenger compartment.
